The carotenoids are related to Vitamin A. Some act as antioxidants or have other
important functions. The best known is beta-carotene. It does not have the same toxicity levels attributed in vitamin A in the body and is not harmful in larger amounts unless you cannot convert beta-carotene into vitamin A.
It is important to take only natural beta-carotene or a natural carotenoids complex.
